Description

Wandered around a graveyard near Porth, South Wales yesterday. Came across a gravestone with an old wet teddy bear just sat there. So very sad. Made me cry. Just wanted to capture the sadness of someone's death.

I agree with almost everything Farathil has said except that, "you can only go so far with technique in photograghy". Quite frankly technique is everything in photography, anyone can take a snapshot, but if you don't have good technique your never going to create art except by accident.
This image literally grabbed my attention. The forlorn look of the teddy instantly envisions the sadness of a long lost playmate, or was discarded by a child who had outgrown their toys. Then I read your description and felt a true wave of sadness in learning this was a cemetery.

This is an extreemly well composed image, and conforms well to the rule of thirds, with the teddy leaning off center. In addition the lightness in the background gives a wonderful contrast break to the heavyness of the dark stone. While its too bad that its not clearer that this is a cemetery its understandable given the limitation s of the view. It still remains an extreemly powerful image.
This is a skillfully done photo, a masterful job
