When The Boat Comes In

I love the balance of color in this photo, the boat isn't overbearing compared to the rest of the image and the black and white really gives it nice depth. It's pleasantly calming to look at and vivid enough that I feel I could walk right in.
Usually I suggest darker shadows in black an white pieces like this, but the brightness works well to indicate a bright sunny day when the picture was taken and complements the the rustic nature of the image.
The only thing missing is the color, though I would imagine the foliage most likely drew away from the boat itself, making that again the right choice and a great example of this artist's eye for a simply beautiful image.
